About album

“Edoardo Liberati is a fantastic guitar player that I met in Siena in 2021. He has put together some incredible talent and great compositions for his debut record.”

 Seamus Blake

“Guitarist and composer Edoardo Liberati takes the listener on an extraordinary journey on “Everyday Life”. Moments of intimate conversation give way to stunning harmonic landscapes, exotic melodic incantations and swinging rhythmic adventures. His travel companions’ musical voices bring joy, color and camaraderie to the generous journey offered to us by Liberati. This an adventure the listener can gladly relive with each listening.”

GleAM Records is proud to announce the release of Everyday Life, the debut album of Italian guitarist and composer Edoardo Liberati and his project Synthetics, available on CD and digital download / streaming from April 22nd, 2022.

What is striking about this album is the blend between the songs and the storytelling that comes out of them with personality and courage. The songs present different feels and ideas, regarding all the aspects of music: tempo, meter, texture, arrangement, form, orchestration, dynamics. Each track has its specific and unique voice, without sacrificing the coherence of the entire work.

The author tells us about it:  “I dealt with some big life changes, moving from The Netherlands (the country where I lived 5 years of my life)  back to my own country, Italy. From that moment on, I started composing lots of new songs, and I started picturing the record. Having a precise goal as such worked very well. Indeed, I raised the composing rhythm and I delivered completely ‘fresh’ ideas. For the first time I dealt with every single aspects of music, from composing to arranging, from producing to partially mix it, and so forth. I totally loved it, and I felt very comfortable with it, even though the goal was pretty ambitious. I consider these ‘new songs’ much more ‘personal’, and much more ‘straight to the point’ than all my previous compositions. I believe I just needed to mature more on the writing aspects. “Elegy”, “Everyday Life”, “Calypsin’”, “Monginevra” and “Lithium” came quickly, one after the other. “Everyday Life” tries to tell a story. I’m the messenger of it, but each one of us will have a different feeling and there will be a different sensation to tell once the last note of it is played”.

Reviews:

"Storytelling is what the music of guitarist Edoardo Liberati is all about. Tempo, composition, arrangement, these are the tools for the feeling, the story that the music evokes. With that in mind, Liberati composed eleven pieces addressed to his debut album that sounds surprisingly diverse. The first real own album then, I read with amazement in the cover text. Edoardo is really not selling himself short with this."

- Sjoerd van Aelst - JazzFlits Magazine (Netherland)

"The 1st work of his band "Synthetics" that he newly formed is a work that condensed his charm. A beautiful solo performance of acoustic guitar (1), a fresh collaboration with Giulia Cianca (3) (4) (5), and a colorful ensemble reminiscent of Maria Schneider, demonstrating great talent in performance, composition and arrangement. He is a guitarist who needs attention in the future."

- Kazune Hayata - JazzLife Magazine (Japan)
