About album

When you think about events in a generation it usually reflects the environment surrounding itself, even if the name dennotes something unrefined and unused. This band has promise and doesn’t waste a single moment to wallow in its proverbial status as an unrecognizable and or lost generation. The fact that all these gentlemen hail from a country, Italy, not known as being a jazz powerhouse; they overcome a large uphill battle and in my opinion are at the top of the hill with a select few in this so called wasted gereration. This music perfectly demonstrates what the energy and sound of the time is. You will get a glimpse in this hour long performance at genius level that will most certainly will not have been a waste.
Joe Sanders, Producer

Reviews:

"The group offers plenty of spirit and vitality, distinctive contributions and inventive solos. They handle lead and improvisation roles well, knowing when a facet of the composition needs them to harmonise and when a freer course is open to them. Sanders seems to have been a key influence. The improvisations can occasionally be exacting, but those who prefer their jazz mainly ambitious and contemporary with soulful touches may find much to admire here."

- Neil Duggan - All About Jazz USA

"Wasted Generation is a band that feels the breath of Generation Z. All five members were born in 1996/2000, including Iacopo Teolis, born in 1999, who participated in the album of Edoardo Liberati (g) "Everyday Life" (GleAM 2022) in which he has already shown a taste of his great abilities. This 2019 debut album by Wasted Generation contains 10 original tracks written by the five members and fully showcases a post-bop jazz full of modern rhythms and harmonies. Like the American band O.T.B. (Out of The Blue), which debuted in 1984, and the High Five, which appeared in 2002, this band also raises expectations that new stars will emerge one after another. "

- Kazune Hayata - Jazz Life Magazine (Japan)
